Hello_Mini,

My name is Jake.
I am a third-year computer science undergraduate who's going to pursue their PhD in computer science, studying parallel computing.

As an aspiring computer scientist, I love learning about mathematics, physics, and obviously computer science.

I have a deep fascination with the world of academia and how the greatest minds think. (you can find much of these ramblings in the articles section)

The current long-term goal is to become a distinguished professor at any respected academic institution, where I spend my days in-deep thought, teaching and aspiring the great minds of our next generation.

My Interests

Originally, I thought that I wanted to be a software engineer, spending 3 years of my life with this assumption. However, after a lackluster backend developer journey, I began to strive for something else. A simple google search of "hard topics in computer science" lead me to learning concurrency.

This rabbit hole lead me to discovering a parallel computing lab at my university, where thankfully I had an environment which channeled my passion.

Overtime, I have learned to embrace what I truly find interesting. For me, I need a career where I'm always learning and doing something new. Spending time deeply thinking about novel problems, and contributing new knowledge to the world is necessary.

Timeline: Nov 2024 - Present
Focusing on building Concurrent and Parallel Data Structures and Algorithms. Also working on HPC job scheduling with Sandia National Labs.

ProxyCraft ^(Networking)

Timeline: Jan 2025
Built in Go to bypass port-forwarding by using TCP tunneling. Allowing anyone to host minecraft servers on their machines
Next steps include fixing up demo and releasing to users...

COPR ^{(Backend Development / Fullstack)}

Timeline: May 2024 - Oct 2024 (development paused)
Built with Go and NextJS to help users efficiently practice data structures and Algorithms through in-depth statistics
Development currently paused, but I have plans to continue development soon...

ACM Website Backend Lead ^{(Backend Development, Nodejs, Rest)}

Led a team of 7 students. Together we used MongoDB and Nodejs to create the backend for our clubs website.
Fun project in my first year that taught me how to lead and teach programming to fellow students

Work in a team of 8 to build autonomous drone shows

A* Pathfinding: Made for path finding AI in my games and for a maze solver
Falling Sand Sim: Made in Java and C++ for optimization practice, overall very cool project
Wave Function Collapse: Made in Java for the purpose of procedural map and image generation
